Cliff 'em All is a concert video released as a tribute to Metallica's late bassist Cliff Burton
The video is a retrospective on the 3½ years that Cliff Burton was in Metallica, presented as a
collection of bootleg footage shot by fans, some professional filming and TV shots that were
never used and some of his best bass solos, personal photos and live concerts. Photos and
narrations by the band (Ulrich, Hetfield and Hammett drinking beer) are placed between songs
which focus on Burton before fading into a title card of a performance. The video ends with the
melodic interlude of "Orion" as pictures of Burton are shown. Ironically, the credits end
before his bass solo.  With this video, the band tries to show the unique personality and style
he had. While ostensibly the film focuses on Burton, it also has given fans a rare glimpse of
Metallica's less-documented early career
Release date(s) December 4, 1987
Running time 90 min.

2 of One, a home video released on June 6, 1989, features two versions of Metallica's 1989 video "One" from their album, ...And Justice for All.
This is a great home video that any and every Metallica fan should own. Metallica made history with releasing "One" as their first music video.

Here we see Metallica in their prime, back when they were the greatest heavy metal band in existence. We are also treated to an interview with

Lars Ulrich that is actually pretty cool and insightful.

Cunning Stunts Release Date: 18 December, 1998
Runtime:140 Minutes
Cunning Stunts is a concert video by Metallica released in 1998. The performances were recorded in Fort Worth Convention Center, Fort Worth,

Texas, USA on May 9th and 10th, 1997. It was released in DVD and VHS formats.

The DVD features concert footage, band interviews, a documentary, behind the scenes footage and a photo gallery consisting of approximately 1,000

photos. Three of the performances feature multiple angles.

The title is also a spoonerism of the term Stunning Cunts.

During the performance of the song Enter Sandman, the entire stage is set to appear to collapse and explode, with pyrotechnics and a technician

(referred to in the extras as the "Burning Dude") that runs across the stage while on fire, as another technician swings overhead.

Classic Albums is a documentary series about pop and rock albums that are considered the best or most distinctive of a well known band or

musician or that exemplify a stage in the history of pop and rock music.

The music, and its production, is dissected by the musicians and/or producer playing the multitrack recordings and singling out tracks that one

does not usually consciously hear when listening to the music, giving insight into the way the sound is built up. Also, the individual musicians

play back pieces, which are then blended with the original recording. Almost all songs are dealt with, focusing almost entirely on the music

itself, how it was composed/realised. Personal aspects of the band or members are occasionally dealt with, but mostly only if they serve this

purpose. TV episodes are 50 minutes long but the DVD releases contain much additional material. All the releases in this series are done

with the co-operation and full authorisation of the artists involved.

The series are made by Isis/Eagle Rock Entertainment and have been broadcast worldwide (BBC, ITV, VH1, VH1 Classic etc). They are also

available on DVD. They were devised by radio producer John Pidgeon as a vehicle for Roger Scott, following the disc jockey’s move from

Capital Radio to BBC Radio 1 in 1988. The first hour-long series, produced independently by John and Roger, opened with Dire Straits’

Brothers In Arms in May 1989, followed by the Rolling Stones’ Beggar’s Banquet, Genesis’ Invisible Touch, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the

Moon, The Who's Who's Next, Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours, the Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds, Police’s Synchronicity, the Eagles’ Hotel California

and U2’s The Joshua Tree. Roger died of cancer five months later, and the second series aired posthumously. Further programs were presented

by Richard Skinner. Some albums that have been covered are:

S&M
Metallica also filmed and released the concert in DVD and VHS. The video was directed by Wayne Isham. The VHS set has only the concert video,

while the double DVD set has 5.1 sound, 41 minute long documentary about the concert, and two No Leaf Clover music videos; "Cut & Slice" version

and the "Maestro Edit." The DVD also contains four songs with multi-angles where each band member can be viewed individually (Of Wolf And Man,

Fuel, Sad But True and Enter Sandman).

incredible 613,000 copies since its 1993 release, and this reissue is sure to swell the ranks of those blown

Metallica - Some Kind of Monster (2004)
DVD Release Date: January 25, 2005
Run Time: 140 minutes
With voyeuristic intensity, Metallica: Some Kind of Monster explores the intricate connections that are created,

nurtured, and challenged between members of a long-lasting band. That this intimate odyssey of group therapy and

self-discovery involves Metallica--the most successful heavy metal group of all time--is just one reason this

film is so uniquely fascinating. Having proven their documentary skills with Brother's Keeper and Paradise Lost

(which included Metallica in its soundtrack), filmmakers Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky spent two years with

Metallica as the band survived the defection of long-time bassist Jason Newsted, struggled to record St. Anger,

and recruited $40,000-per-month "performance enhancement coach" Phil Towle to counsel members James Hetfield,

Lars Ulrich, and Kirk Hammett as they confronted alcoholism, creative obstacles, and themselves in an effort to

determine the viability of Metallica's future. With sincere hope, honest discussion, and the hiring of new

bassist Robert Trujillo, Metallica battle their personal and professional demons, showing the vulnerable side of

a business that thrives on raging testosterone. The effort pays off for everyone involved, especially the fans:

Like the ultimate backstage pass, Some Kind of Monster is a healing journey into the hard-beating heart of rock

& roll. --Jeff Shannon
